HOME & DECOR EDITORIAL

A publication byline built around a documented process.

Home & Decor Editorial is the publication byline used for guides researched, assembled and maintained by the publisher rather than a named staff writer. It does not imply a team of employees, a certified interior designer or personal testing unless an article explicitly says so.

HOW WE WORK

Editorial context first. Commerce second.

We begin with the reader's design question: how a room should feel, what visual problem needs solving and which material or layout choices actually affect the result. Products are added only when they extend that editorial idea.

A product's presence in an article is not a claim that it has been physically tested, owned or installed by Home & Decor unless that is stated explicitly.

01

Define the design question

Each guide starts with a specific reader intent, room condition or visual problem rather than a product list.

02

Research the design logic

We compare materials, proportions, lighting, layout principles and reliable source material before shaping the article.

03

Build the visual story

Images should teach something about the design idea. Final publication photography is preferably licensed, commissioned, supplied with permission or otherwise clearly cleared for commercial use.

04

Curate products in context

Retailer information, product specifications and current availability are checked before a recommendation is connected to the relevant section.

05

Review and update

Articles can be revised when products disappear, links change, better imagery becomes available or the editorial explanation can be improved.

IMAGE STANDARDS

Credits do not replace permission.

Every editorial image can carry an internal provenance record: creator or supplier, original source, rights type, permission or licence note and the date those rights were checked. A public image credit is displayed where appropriate, but attribution alone is not treated as a licence.

AI-ASSISTED IMAGERY

Illustration is not documentary photography.

AI-assisted images may be used for ideation or editorial visualization. When they are used, the provenance is recorded and they must not be presented as a documented real home, a completed designer project or an exact depiction of products listed in a shopping module.

AFFILIATE INDEPENDENCE

A commission is not the editorial reason.

Some retailer links can generate a commission. Product inclusion should still be justified by the article's design direction, function, specifications and reader usefulness rather than by the commission rate.

CORRECTIONS

Living guides, not frozen pages.

If a product becomes unavailable, an image-rights record changes or a factual error is identified, the article can be corrected and its update date revised.
